What is Astral Travel
Astral Travel is often known as out-of-body experience. It is the conscious separation of the astral body
from the physical body. This results in an altered state of consciousness. There are a large amount of techniques in Astral
Travel that can be used to achieve this including meditation, trance and imagination techniques. A large amount of people
who experience astral travel report that the experience happened from a vantage point such as high in the sky looking down.
A number of controlled tests have taken place which support the excistence of astral travel. Astral Travel has also been
reported by some people who have had a near death experience. Some people who have had this type of experience have reported watching their operation and recalling conversations among
hospital staff. The astral body is often reported as being joined to the physical body by a silver cord - an etheric umbilical
cord. Some people believe that if the cord breaks while in astral travel you will not be able to return to the physical body.
The Astral Plane Out-of-body
experiences (OBE) aren’t fantasy, they are real and verifiable. They take place in the astral plane, the same place
we travel to every night when we sleep. With OBE’s we are conscious within another dimension - the fifth dimension.
We can consciously enter the astral plane through astral projection, or by waking up in dreams. Either way, we leave behind
our physical body in the third dimension, and exist consciously within our astral body in the fifth dimension. The astral
plane is another plane of life. Everything that exists in the physical world also exists in the astral, and more. Within this
dimension there exist spiritual beings, whom you can meet and receive teachings from.
Astral Projection Dreams take place in the astral plane, and so at times it is possible to realize that you are dreaming and be able to perceive more
of what is actually there. Many people have had lucid dreams – dreams within which they become aware they are dreaming,
and are able to take control of events and explore the world around them. Often people become lucid whilst flying in a dream; it’s a real thrill to do so - soaring, gliding just like a bird. Alternatively you can enter the fifth dimension
via astral projection – a more direct and conscious way to do so. We astral project by maintaining a focused mind as
our physical body falls asleep. With our body sleeping, our consciousness moves into our astral body, and we are in the astral
plane. Often you’ll find yourself floating above your body, or being literally launched out, or at times you may have
to gently get up. Once in the astral plane, you can float or fly, walk through walls, breathe under water and do many other
things which are not possible in the physical world. This is because the fifth dimension has different laws to the physical,
so things like gravity and density work very differently there. One simple technique you can experiment with is concentration
on the heart. Start by lying down in your bed, or sitting comfortably in a position in which you are able to fall asleep.
Thoroughly relax your entire body, and then shift all of your attention to your heart. Focus your mind solely on the heart
beats, feel it pulsating in your chest beat-by-beat. If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to the heart beats. Ignore
any bodily sensations, or sounds such as high pitched whirring, an intensified heart beat, etc.; these are a natural part
of falling asleep. Continue focusing on the heart until you project. Once you have projected, look around to see where you
are, then try jumping and floating to make sure you are indeed in the astral. From here you can take off on your astral voyage,
exploring whatever it is you’re interested in... Many more astral projection techniques are taught, and personal guidance
is provided on The Gnostic Movement’s free course on Dreams & Out-of-Body Experiences.
Why Astral Project Apart from the fun of floating and exploring there
are lots of other – more meaningful - things you can do in the astral plane. It is possible to use this dimension to
gain knowledge about yourself and various obstacles you face in life. This knowledge can be applied back in the physical world
to resolve serious issues and move forward. It is also possible to understand the process of death, as the astral plane is
where the dead go. In so doing, death becomes less scary, and with this understanding life has more meaning and value. You
can also view the past or the present, visit sacred temples, meet with spiritual beings, and receive sacred teachings. These
teachings direct one to the spiritual path, which you can walk to enlightenment and ultimate liberation. Whatever your reason,
having explored the astral plane, your life will never quite be the same. For you now know there is far more to life than
meets the eye.
